I Built the Cross - Bridging the Gap Between Heart and Mind (200)

Guise I swear it's not often that I come across a Christian metal band that plays technical death metal with a side of deathcore. Seriouslyy! Bridging the Gap Between Heart and Mind begins with a narration speaking fighting a guerrilla war, about using the enemies weapons against them. In the case of these guise, that war is with Satan and enemies of Christ. They make no attempt to disguise their faith, and I applaud them for that. On their MySpace page they refer to it first as being a ministry to spread the love and grace that Jesus Christ has shared with us and secondly as a technical death metal band. It takes a lot of guts to do this! I cannot believe it's not more popular with mainstream metal, or metal in general, to be people of faith.

New kid on the block...

I used to be able to name every nut that there was. And it used to drive my mother crazy, because she used to say, "Harlan Pepper, if you don't stop naming nuts," and the joke was that we lived in Pine Nut, and I think that's what put it in my mind at that point. So she would hear me in the other room, and she'd just start yelling. I'd say, "Peanut. Hazelnut. Cashew nut. Macadamia nut." That was the one that would send her into going crazy. She'd say, "Would you stop naming nuts!" And Hubert, my dog, used to be able to make the sound, he couldn't talk, but he'd go "rrrawr rrawr" and that sounded like Macadamia nut. Pine nut, which is a nut, but it's also the name of a town. Pistachio nut. Red pistachio nut. Natural, all natural white pistachio nut.

Bassnectar - Shambhala 2010

Soooo discovered this on the innerbuttz and it is the entire Sham 2010 Bassnectar set, in pretty good quality for a recording. There's no crackle, bass is fine, songs more than distinguishable, low audience interference and it basically sounds like the shitty soundboards STS9 put out. If you listen with some really good headphones it is not bad at all. Has a lot of bits from 1st bass center and the intro for red rocks somewhere in the middle. Worth a listen, judge the sound quality for yourself and then delete or repeat listen. The second drop of Here We Go with Beastie Boys over it is sweeeeeet. Also, you'll recognize a lot of choonz Da Fellowship has put in mixes...because he finds those songs first, always. This is tiding me over until his new mixset comes out, which could be soon or never, but according to him it's almost done. Pwomp.
