actually, just...kinda...absurdly palatable. it sounds amazing. pretty blackened melo crust. fucking...something... It sounds like...fucking dick shit I cant even think. A mix of agalloch components with black ships and defeater and deafheaven.

i am having such a difficult time with this right now. it's like...okay. pop-deafheaven, with the twin vocal metalcore styles, a guitarist or two that seem to have completely written the entire album plus theoretical albums before and after this, a prolific and extremely useful bass, drums that sound like liturgy (I REFUSE TO APOLOGIZE FOR THE COMPARISON, LITURGY ISNT ALL BLACK METAL BILL HADER), and some production wizardry that crushes almost everything on my winter black metal mix.

the biggest part is just this insane sense of melodicism, like...it only gets black metal-grotesque in the tiniest of portions... Most of it is just this hyper-desperate, sickened sound that unfolds over a retardedly-complex array of riff-switching and time-signature abuse.

pretty magical. i can never describe it sufficiently, hopefully pitchfork will step in to do the heavy lifting.
