Treal

Remember Will from Philadelphia, the kid I met in Montréal over Craigslist (don't judge me)? He's producing his own tuuunes now under the name Treal, and I thought I'd post some of his stuff here.

Arcade Fire - Sprawl II (Treal Remix) 2010

Aaaand the original:
Arcade Fire - Sprawl II 2010

Over a joint in MTL one night, we received a link to this video with directions telling us to smoke as much as we can for the first two minutes, and then to just watch. Nasa threw a camera and microphone onto one of the rocket boosters during the STS-124 launch, and the footage is remarkable. Will started working on a song to go along with it almost immediately, and he just finished it like a month ago. He threw some photos over the first two minutes, because it's really not interesting unless you have the sound from the actual recording. He used guitar samples made by his roommate Leo and had the whole thing mastered by one of the DJs for whom he interned in MTL, Tone Depth.

Yayyyyyy!

Skrillex - Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites EP

So this release is one of the highest charting releases on beatport...thanks to dead mau 5. Beatport sucks so fucking much. $2.50 a song? 18 dollars for ep's? Not to mention when Timestretch was released on there they took it off because they thought Lorin was hacking them...and then they didn't allow it to chart once it got back on. Why any artists outside of the house/techno scene put releases on there is beyond me. DO NOT SUPPORT BEATPORT DOWNLOAD HERE FOR FREE!!!

So Skrillex has an interesting style, really gay builds and bridges, mean drops, some of which are so frenetic they make no sense. Collab with Bare Noize, Bare Noize remix and Noisia remix stand out. Avoid: With your Friends and All I Ask of You, boooooooooring.

This guy used to be the frontman of From First to Last, a god awful screamo band and now he has scene hopped to dubstep and got lucky signing onto dead mau 5's record label.
