Saturn Never Sleeps is King Britt (a hip hop/deep house/nu-jazz DJ who used to play with Digable Planets) and vocalist, rucyl. I was fortunate enough to make it to this album release show last week, and they were absolutely phenomenal. If soft, soulful, melodic female vocals over deep, jazzy trip hop is your thing, then you should definitely acquire this album.
So Radiohead dropped this with pretty much no warning. It leaked sometime in the past week, was originally intended to come out today, buuuut ended up being released (officially) yesterday. Eight tracks, only 37 minutes long. It's their shortest full-length album so far.
The tracks are all very dreamy-sounding, instrumentally reminiscent of The Beatles at times, with abstract lyrics as per usual-- all against some of the most curiously distinctive electronica we've heard from them yet. God Thom Yorke is amazing.
I talked about this album last month, but here's a recap: This is Graciela Maria's debut album. She grew up in Mexico City, where she deeply integrated herself into the local electronic scene. She met Robot Koch in 2009, and he featured her in a few of his tracks, which is how I initially heard of her. When I heard Many Places was produced by Robot Koch and Sneaky (who I'd never heard of before now), I expected all of the tracks to be heavily influenced by the glitchy dubstep RK has been releasing. Listening to Sneaky now for the first time, it's easy to see how this album manages to reach such a perfect blend of electronic and acoustic styles.

Backstory: So on Mooncircle's MySpAzzZ, it's written that "Nothing can stop you and I, only the illusions of obstacles in your mind." This Russian girl, Jinna Morocha, told the label of her lifelong dream of going to the moon, and she asked if they could take her there (w0t). She flew to Obscuremany (Berlin) to discuss further. "We can't take you to the moon," Mooncircle puts on sunglasses, "but we can take you closer!" Yeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaahhhhh! So Mooncircle had a bunch of their artists make tracks for a compilation to send this girl's mind on a journey to the moon. And they did a pretty fucking remarkable job.

As Duncan pointed out in response to my Graciela Maria post, "Mooncircle does a frighteningly good job of not allowing free-loading ass-holery." Thusly, I do not have a torrent link for you. But you can listen to a hefty chunk of most of the songs on Beatport! If you're going to buy this album (you want to, trust me), I recommend doing so via iTunes (because they only charge $9.99) and not Beatport (because they charge $21.99>?!??>).

Scandinavia is just hemorrhaging musical talent these days it seems, and the Swedish ensemble Little Dragon is no exception. I mentioned these guys briefly in the summer, as lead vocalist Yukimi Nagano is featured on the latest Gorillaz album, Plastic Beach.
This album is perfect for lounging out at home. I could also imagine it making for a tremendously pleasant drive in the rain. Or a walk, anywhere. Overall I'd advocate it for more low-key endeavors, though I've read that they're incredibly dance-y live. God, her voice is amazing. I could listen to it foreverrrrrrrrrrr. Mmmmmmmmmmmm
