Escape The Day - Ghostless 2005

i have been waiting for a copy of this album since 2005. escape the day are one of the very first ambient-ish bands i started listening to, along with kill the zodiac and last days, and i was really excited to hear that their album (off which some mp3s had been released, "days" in particular had a huge impact on me) would be coming out. then florian, half of the band, sent out all of the material and killed himself. for a year or two after that, there was debate as to whether or not the album would be compiled or released at all.

needless to say, i was a bit surprised when it showed up on icoulddietomorow a week or two ago (although i have no idea when it actually was released).

the music is “for lonely walks, hangovers, or just falling asleep", and it is unbelievably goddamn sad.
