I've developed a soft spot for r&b recently, and The Weeknd is a recent discovery with which I'm rapidly becoming obsessed. Not only does this guy have the most seductively soulful voice, but he's backed by really edgy electronic instrumentals. Occasionally glitchy (see: "Rolling Stone" off
Thursday), some dubstep thrown in (see: "High for This" off
House of Balloons). The lyrics aren't incredibly profound... but his delivery more than compensates. Expect to hear more about him in the next year, he's due to release another mixtape any time now, and Drake will be doing some heavy promoting. I suspect they bonded over mutual Canadianisms fuck.
