Gramatik - Beatz & Pieces Vol. 1 2011

do you like opiou and trip hop and wish they could merge in a mellow way? do you like beats antique, but wish they werent so fat and hat-wearing and shitty-beard-having? also he's on pretty lights' label, because some people care about that. anyway, it's free and fun.

DJ Cappel & Smitty - Blue Eyes Meets Bed Stuy (2005)

Notorious BIG and Frank Sinatra.

Remember how The Grey Album (Jay-Z and The Beatles) sucked?

Yeah, well this doesn't.

44 Flavours Mixtape - Robot Koch (2011)

Last post of the night, I promise.

So while we're on the topic of Robot Koch, here's a braaaaand new mixtape. Can't find a download link for it, but give it a listen on MixCloud.

Sneaky - Feel Like a King...Pluck a String (2009)

On his Facebook fan page, Sneaky places his music under the genre "electro-acoustic wood hop", and... honestly that's the best way I could possibly describe it. He plays double bass and plays music with DJ Peter Parker under the name Fingathing.

I just looked this guy up after hearing the new Graciela Maria album he just produced with Robot Koch, and so far I'm loving this a lot. He's got a very organic sound, using acoustic loops and throwing them over eclectic beats and heavy bass lines-- pretty much the type of magic I wished I could make on GarageBand in high school. This guy is one of a kind, you've got to check him out.

Get Sneaky.

Gorillaz - Plastic Beach (2010)

they've rounded up snoop dogg, lou reed, bobby womack, mos def, and little dragon (electro band from sweden). it's eclectic and whimsical and all the beats are fucking glorious. this one will definitely grow on you quickly.
