so its two kids (like, they might be 20ish now?) from oregon. beyond that it's kind of hard to describe. pretty much every kind of vocals ever used in any genre ever, mixed with a lot of drum machines and death metal and pop and white boy rap and bleeding through-esque wanky 2step breakdowns and coral symphonic arrangements and vocoders and R&B and cello noodling.
this is pretty much the logical evolution of the internet in musical form. the lyrics range from peter pan, to being vegeta, to playing gears of war, to trying to find fast food and shooting strangers instead.
whatever my review has made you think about what this may sound like, it sounds completely different. listen to at least some of it. the songwriting is actually really decent, and the fucker can play guitar like...i dont know. like someone whos really good at guitar. theyre really good at programming drums and singing/grunting/rapping/screeching and its generally fucking hilarious. not listening to this is a huge mistake.

oh wow. the first album ive heard out of russia in a while that has amazing production and a great sound and ahhhhh fuck its like East EP - era gaza mixed with opeth mixed with the chariot mixed with someone fucking amazing that does a lot of operatic vocals. neato stuff.
update: without expending any effort to verify this, im not so sure they are russian. because the singer, at least the one who does most of the vocals, has either a perfect american accent or is-
-update 2: theyre totally from st. petersburg. kudos to this guys voice.
if you know me, you love this album. white walls changed my perspective on music in less than 5 minutes, and the asleep on the forest floor drums are the only thing ive ever tried to program into my drum machine. this cd is super dense, without all of the retarded "we're new to this sound" stuff on the cloak of love EP and all of the "we're going to play the same stuff but draw the songs out so much more and play some post electro doom shit too" that was on board up the house. and fuck all those remix cds too. i appreciate that you got j. broadrick and merzbow and eluvium to do all this stuff but GOOD FUCKING GOD JUST TRY TRY TRY TRY TRY TO WRITE ANOTHER GODDAMN ALBUM.
but yeah. pinnacle of music.
