the reviews of these two are kind of weird. in the pitchfork sense. lots of really hesitant enjoyment.
you can definitely tell that ballads is closer chronologically to flags of the sacred harp/valley of fire than earth sound system is. and guess what? flags of the sacred harp is still one of the most insanely amazing albums there is. i debated bumping that one up again, but then my charts would be wrong. and i debated posting valley of fire, because 'the tree' next to 'we are/chanel zero' is fucking retarded.
but instead, these. here. because ive been rampantly switching back and forth between poppy DnB and psychdrone as i replay STALKER again and again and contemplate the abject moral decay of my life.
also 'the corner' contains the out-of-context lines "i trust you...keep me drunk...i trust you" which i cant stop thinking about.
