Asva - Presences Of Absences 2011

holy shit. this album sounds like justin vernon and stephen o'malley got gaymarried, and then promptly died and had the funeral at the same ceremony. a lot of earth songs sound like old world gospel, but this really sounds like a orthodox russian baptismal ceremony, at about 1/10th the speed. theres less of the drums and distortion of past asva, and more singing (which, to me, shifts in and out of tune in a very terrifying way). its wonderful and shiny and new and sllllloooowwwwww and it really does remind me of bon iver for some reason. like someone overlayed every bon iver song and then ran the whole mess through paulstretch. i highly recommend playing with paulstretch.
