A.L ROSS - Septermber Mix 2010

arent you supposed to pick a DJ name thats memorable and easy to identify? no idea who this is, or why, but it comes up under 'turok' too. dont care. this mix is goddamn decent, and since dubstep is apparently all the rage around here, eat a dick!

no idea what parts of the tracklist are. youve heard most of it, and the sweet shop double drop is one of the most half-assed things ive heard in my life, but its mean enough.

actually its real goddamn mean.

ahhhhhhh fuck me its meaner than i thought. it ends with some mutant form of cracks and then something rad that i havent heard before.

LiquidDNB Show on Bassdrive 089 - 2011

from july 30th, mixed by brokendrum.

if you know how to read (everyone but tj and kleetus, i think), and you find yourself reading often, this is nice to have in the background. due to how melodic the genre is, the mixing is a bit more chaotic than dubstep, usually with a minor but noticeable collision of major keys, although the drums flow pretty easily.

hope you like the amen break.

The weakerthans - Left and Leaving 2000

I know this may be old news to many people, but as the weather takes a sharp turn for the colder, my instincts tell me to shift into my overly moody, no fun to be around, double hate for everything, gratuitously aloof self. So, with that, I present an album that I will probably listen to constantly for the next handful of months. Fun fact: the front man and writer, John K. Samson, was the bass player for Propagandhi. Who knew?

Bassnectar - Shambhala 2010

Soooo discovered this on the innerbuttz and it is the entire Sham 2010 Bassnectar set, in pretty good quality for a recording. There's no crackle, bass is fine, songs more than distinguishable, low audience interference and it basically sounds like the shitty soundboards STS9 put out. If you listen with some really good headphones it is not bad at all. Has a lot of bits from 1st bass center and the intro for red rocks somewhere in the middle. Worth a listen, judge the sound quality for yourself and then delete or repeat listen. The second drop of Here We Go with Beastie Boys over it is sweeeeeet. Also, you'll recognize a lot of choonz Da Fellowship has put in mixes...because he finds those songs first, always. This is tiding me over until his new mixset comes out, which could be soon or never, but according to him it's almost done. Pwomp.
